⚠️ This document is a preliminary draft currently under legal review. It does not constitute legal advice and is not legally binding.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the RateFlow API service ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to registered users. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

2. Description of the Service

RateFlow is a SaaS platform that provides RESTful API endpoints for accessing foreign currency exchange rate data. The Service aggregates rate data from multiple trusted sources, including central banks and financial data providers.

Access to the API is provided through API keys linked to your account. Different subscription plans offer varying monthly request quotas and feature tiers.

3. Account Registration and Responsibilities

To use the Service, you must register for an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and API keys.

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account or API key has been compromised, you must notify us immediately and revoke the affected keys via your dashboard.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Share your API keys with third parties or use them in publicly accessible client-side code.
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or resell access without prior written consent.
  • Use the Service in a way that impairs performance or availability for other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates this policy, without prior notice.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, documentation, and content, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Exchange rate data provided through the Service is sourced from third-party providers and is subject to their respective licensing terms.

6. Service Availability and Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the availability, reliability, accuracy, or fitness of the Service for any particular purpose.

Exchange rate data is intended for informational purposes only and should not be used as the sole basis for financial decisions. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RateFlow and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or in connection with your use of the Service.

In no event shall RateFlow's total cumulative liability exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to RateFlow in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 100.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the law applicable at the operator's registered jurisdiction, as stated at the foot of this page. Disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If resolution cannot be reached, disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
